摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately operate a TPC in accordance with switching timing of an access system, to prevent occurrence of an error in communication, and to reduce influence on the other cell caused by the transmission of unnecessary power.SOLUTION: A mobile station device performs communication by using a plurality of transmission antennas. When transmission is performed by using a transmission diversity system different in backoff required at every transmission antenna, maximum transmission power that can be used in the respective transmission antennas is set to a value different by a difference of the backoff. The communication is performed by switching the plurality of transmission diversity systems, and the maximum transmission power that can be used in the respective transmission antennas is changed in accordance with the transmission diversity system to be used.

摘要： A building monitoring and control system is disclosed that includes a bi-directional radio link between master and remote units, wherein the remote units adjust transmission power to a level adequate for communication but not so high as to waste power and unnecessarily decrease battery life. In one embodiment, the master unit measures a received signal strength from the remote units and uses that measure to provide feedback to the remote units as to whether their transmissions are too strong, too weak, or within an acceptable range. In another embodiment, the remote units receive an analog measure of the master unit received signal strength and use that measure as an indication of whether to increase or decrease the transmission strength. In yet another embodiment, the lack of an acknowledgement from the master is used as an indication that the remote signal is not strong enough.

SOLUTION: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) randomly selects a RACH sub-channel and a signature from among a plurality of available RACH sub-channels and signatures. The WTRU transmits a preamble using the selected signature via the selected RACH sub-channel at a transmission power determined in advance or a calculated transmission power. A base station monitors the RACH to detect the preamble. When the signature is detected on the RACH, the base station transmits an acquisition indicator (AI) to the WTRU. When an affirmative acknowledgement reply (ACK) is received, the WTRU transmits the message portion to the base station. When a negative acknowledgment reply (NACK) is received or a reply is not received, the WTRU re-transmits the preamble.
