    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing the cost by eliminating the need of providing an electromagnetic wave shield layer, a filter or the like on the front side of a panel and especially, coping with the generation of a moire pattern on a panel display surface.
      SOLUTION: The PDP (transmission type PDP) includes for instance, a back part having a lateral display electrode pair (X and Y), a front part having a longitudinal address electrode and a display surface, a longitudinal light transmissive partition and a phosphor layer. The potential of the address electrode is kept constant for a display period. Thus, a layer (first shield layer 101) by a longitudinal stripe-like address electrode functions as an electromagnetic wave shield. Further, a layer (second shield layer 102) by a lateral stripe-like electrode pattern can be arranged on the front surface of the panel. The generation of a moire pattern is prevented by the superpositions (103a and 103b) of the above-mentioned two layers.

      SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes: a plasma display panel 100 adapted to create videos and including a front substrate 110, a rear substrate 120, a plurality of discharge cells S defined between the front substrate 110 and the rear substrate 200, and phosphors 125 coated in the discharge cells; and a filter 130 directly attached to the front surface of the front substrate 110 and adapted to serve as an image display surface, wherein the filter 130 and the phosphors 125 are colored with first and second colors that are different from each other, respectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transparently form a barrier rib, a dielectric layer, and a protective film in order to prevent damages due to coloring, form a reflecting layer formed in a discharge space in order to prevent scattering of color, to reduce reflecting brightness, and to improve brightness, and furthermore form constituting elements so as to have relationship of color that subtractive color mixing is carried out in order to improve bright-room contrast, to prevent reduction of display efficiency due to reflection of external light, and to improve image quality.
      SOLUTION: This plasma display panel includes a first substrate colored by a first color, a second substrate arranged opposing to the first substrate and colored with a second color, the barrier rib which is arranged between the both substrates and by which respective discharge cells are partitioned, an address electrode formed on the first substrate extending in a first direction and corresponding to the discharge cells, a lower part induction layer to cover the address electrode, a display electrode formed on the second substrate extending in the second direction intersecting with the first direction and corresponding to the discharge cells, an upper part dielectric layer to cover the display electrode, and phosphor layers formed inside the discharge cells.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which differences in electric discharge characteristics of respective color cells are relaxed without changing cell structures at respective colors.
      SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel in which an electric discharge gas is sealed into an opposing gap between a front face side substrate and a rear face side substrate, and a barrier rib 18 that partitions the gas sealing space into an electro-discharging cell alignment is arranged on the interior face of one substrate, while at least three kinds of phosphor layers 19R, 19G, 19B of red, green, and blue colors are installed to compose selectively painted gas sealing spaces corresponding to the respective electric discharging cells, by constituting the barrier ribs with a colored glass which absorbs a light-emitting spectrum of a red phosphor layer selectively, the light emission strength of the red phosphor layer is diminished, and the differences between the light emission characteristics of the respective phosphor layers are reduced, so that the differences in the electric discharge characteristics between the respective colored cells are relaxed.
