SOLUTION: The image signal processing section of a PDP device is equipped with a noise reducer section 11 in the fore stage of error diffusion processing. The noise reducer section 11 has an LPF 111 to input display data (Di) and an edge decision section 112 and a level decision section 113 for the same. On the basis of the results of the respective decisions, the output (d2) passing through the LPF 111 and the output (d1) not passing therethrough are changed over and are output as display data (Do). The noise present in the input display data (Di) is reduced by the noise reducer section 11 while the fineness of the image is maintained.
