In at least one embodiment, the staple further includes a base (1468) connecting the first and second deformable members where the base is not entirely co-planar with the first and second deformable members. The crown can be overmolded onto, or attached to, the base and provide a larger and/or more stable tissue-contacting surface for supporting the tissue captured by the staple. As a result, the possibility of the staple being pulled through the tissue and/or the tissue tearing within or around the staple is reduced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for separating a therapeutic device such as an embolic coil from a delivery tube in a target site in a patient's body.SOLUTION: A system includes a bead which is arranged in the state of abutting on a distal end of a therapeutic device, and the bead retains the therapeutic device to a delivery tube in a first compressed shape by means of a coupling joint comprising a series of connectors. The series of connectors can also have a stretch-resistant member for attaching the bead to an anchor inside the therapeutic device. The anchor can also be arranged in the state of abutting on a thermally-responsive element made of a polymeric material, and the polymeric material is configured to release the anchor by melting or changing a shape and to release the therapeutic device together with the anchor. Energy can be supplied to the thermally-responsive element by an electric conductor and a resistive heating element which are arranged in the delivery tube.
