    • PURPOSE:To provide a helmet provided with functions of both a full face type cap having a wide protecting zone and a jet type cap having a large window. CONSTITUTION:This helmet is equipped with an auxiliary cap 3 at both right and left side walls of a jet type main cap 2 having a large window 4 in such a way that the auxiliary cap is rotatably held between a dropped position to cover the lower half part of the large window and a raised position to open whole the large window. An upper limit controlling means 32 which regulates the rising position of the auxiliary cap 3 and retains the auxiliary cap 3 by taking advantage of elastic restoring force of a stopper arm 35, and the auxiliary cap 3 is installed between a control plate 25 fixed to the inside face of the auxiliary cap 3 and the main cap 2. The control of the raising position of the auxiliary cap and retention at the position can simultaneously be carried out by one means.

    • PURPOSE:To carry out constantly effective ventilation in the helmet body even when the forward tilting angle of the helmet body is changed by utilizing the dynamic pressure and the negative pressure due to running wind. CONSTITUTION:A groove-shaped ventilation passage 7 communicated through plural vent holes 19 to the inside of the inner layer 141a is formed between the mutually pilled up and mutually facing inner layer 141a and outer layer 142 surfaces of a shock absorption liner 11 engaged with the inner surface of the shell of the helmet body 1. An inlet port 4 is set to the front part of the helmet body 1 so that the dynamic pressure due to running wind may act on the ventilation passage 7. Further, first and second outlet ports 5 and 6 are made in the top part and the rear part of the helmet body 1 so that the negative pressure due to running wind may act on this ventilation passage 7.
