    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle of a device structure provided with a hybrid type compressor having an engine and a motor as a driving power source and selectively or simultaneously driven by the both driving power sources capable of appropriately controlling cooler temperature against insufficient cooling capacity or the like for controlling variation of cooler temperature and blow out temperature due to variation of engine speed by appropriately controlling drive of the compressor when the same is simultaneously driven by both of drive sources and capable of appropriately controlling a motor even if electric power consumption is restricted. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for the vehicle is provided with the hybrid type compressor having a first compressor part having the engine for the vehicle as a driving power source and a second compressor part having the motor and a driving power source assembled as one body in such a manner that both compressors can be driven simultaneously, a cooler, a cooler temperature detecting means, a cooling capacity adjusting means adjusting cooling capacity of the cooler. When the hybrid type compressor is simultaneously driven by two types of the driving power sources, cooler temperature detected by the cooler temperature detecting means is referred and cooler temperature is controlled by the cooler capacity adjusting means. The air conditioner is characterized in that the power limit value from the power limit value computing means is calculated with reference to the rotating speed of the prime mover by the rotating speed detecting means (and/or signals from the above element detecting or calculating means), and the power limit is conducted so that the power estimated value from the power limiting means does not exceed the power limit value.

SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes a refrigerant circuit having a variable displacement compressor and an interior heat provided in a ventilating duct, a capability target value setting means for setting the target value of temperature indicating the heat exchange capability of the refrigerant circuit, a refrigerant circuit operating condition detecting means for detecting the operating condition of the refrigerant circuit, and a control means for controlling the compressor capacity to control the temperature indicating the heat exchange capability to the target value. In the air conditioner, the control means performs two-position control for the compressor capacity between the control capacity value when it reaches a first or a second set value range and a predetermined small control capacity value smaller than the control capacity value corresponding to a first set value set for the operating condition amount of the refrigerant circuit for the excessive control limit of the compressor capacity and a second set value higher than the first set value.
