SOLUTION: The air conditioner for the vehicle comprises the hybrid type compressor having a first compressing mechanism driven by a prime mover for driving the vehicle and a second compressing mechanism driven by an electric motor, a selecting means of a compressor power source, and an accelerator opening detecting means for detecting accelerator opening of the vehicle. When a detected amount by the accelerator opening detecting means is a predetermined value or higher, the electric motor is selected as the power source for driving the compressor. When the hybrid type compressor is simultaneously driven by two types of the driving power sources, cooler temperature detected by the cooler temperature detecting means is referred and cooler temperature is controlled by the cooler capacity adjusting means.
