摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a noise generated by an impact applied on a circulating footstep, by coating in a damping material to the recessed grooves at the rear side of a cleat made by forming a steel plate in the corrugated surface and having numerous unevennesses, and to the clearances of the joints of various parts. SOLUTION: A footstep 2 includes a cleat 2A, and a front side reinforcement 2B and a rear side reinforcement 2C to fix the cleat 2A. And a rectangular bracket 2D to support those members and the like are fixed by a screw 9 and the like. When a passenger S rides in, a large impact is applied to the footstep 2 so as to generate a noise. And, a vibration generated at that time is made to a cause to loosen the screw 9 and the like, but the generation of the noise can be prevented by coating in a damping material to the recesses on the rear side of the cleat 2A and to the clearances of the joints of the cleat 2A, the front side reinforcement 2B, and the like. And since the vibration is hardly transmitted by the coating, the screw 9 and the like are hardly loosened.

摘要： PURPOSE:To ensure safety of a utilize by a method wherein an audio device to announce the age or abnormal elongation of a step chain is arranged in the vicinity of a step sprocket on the driven side and the audio device is operated before a safety switch to stop a passenger conveyor is operated. CONSTITUTION:When the step chain is elongated and a step sprocket shaft 8 is moved backward by a distance A and brought into contact with an audio object 9, noise is generated owing to friction therebetween. A distance A is ensured by a part, such as a spring 10, so that the audio object 9 is not locked even when the step sprocket 8 is moved backward. A step chain safety switch 11 is set so that a distance B (>A) between the switch and an actuation piece 12 is ensured. Further, a distance to a bracket 13 by which a part, such as the step sprocket shaft 8, the audio object 9, and a spring 11, is fixed is set to C (>B>A). This constitution causes operation of the safety switch 11 before the step sprocket 8 makes contact with the bracket 13 after the audio object 9 is sounded.
