During the feeding operation for the tape T, an analog sensor 20 is brought into contact with the upper end edge of the tape T with fixed pushing pressure and a pressing member 19 is brought into contact therewith through a spring with fixed pushing pressure. Thus, the movement of the tape T in the direction horizontal to the feeding direction is regulated through the tape guide member 7A during the feeding operation, and the movement in the vertical direction is regulated by the analog sensor 20 and the push-pressing member 19 in relation to the feeding direction.

CONSTITUTION:Where a space is present on the upstream side of a printing position corresponding to a printing head (e.g., the head is located at the 14th printing position) when a correction command key 23 is operated, and also where the head is located at the 15th, uninputted position (position H1), the head is moved to the preceding space position, and is stopped there. Therefore, where the head is located at the 15th printing position, when the key 23 is operated twice, the head is stopped at the 13th printing position. Then, a word 'EXAMPLE' to be corrected is again confirmed, and the key 23 is again operated, whereby the characters of the word are sequentially corrected, starting from the last character to the first character.

When turning-on of another key switch 13 is detected again in the next scanning, the status word is rewritten with '2', and the processing corresponding to the key switch 13 is determined. If turning-on of any key switch 13 is not detected at this scanning time, this state is processed as chattering, and the status word is set to '0'.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous printing in subsequent printings, by a method wherein, in case a type wheel is rotatably moved when a motor for driving a type wheel does not run, the type wheel is rotatably moved to a home position once at the next printing operation time. CONSTITUTION:In case a type wheel 8 is replaced at a time when a power source is ON, and if a rotary shaft 6 of a motor 5 for driving a type wheel is rotatably moved, a rotary plate 11 turns, a detector 13 outputs a detecting signal DS, and a counter 15 of a control circuit 14 counts up. A control circuit 14 rotatably drives the motor 5 for driving a type wheel 5 to reset the counter 15 by means of a home position signal HS from the detector 13 before a printing operation is performed by means of a printing signal PS, and a selection of type elements, corresponding to the printing signal PS, and a driving of a printing hammer 10 are then conducted to execute a printing operation.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to perform a test typing operation without the need for an external device, by performing a multipress control of a plural number of given keys on a key board. CONSTITUTION:A large number of letter, symbol keys, and function keys are mounted on a key board KBD, and a control condition of each key is all detected by a first electric control circuit CM1. A second control circuit CM2 outputs a drive control signal to a printing part PRT or a functioning part FCT to electronically control and execute a printing operation of the letters and symbols, and various types of functioning operations, which follow the instruction of each function key, by means of a code from the first electronic control circuit CM1. For example, if the control circuit CM1 detects a control of a relocate-key RL, it is brought into a test typing mode when a multipressing condition, a SL set, a HS set, and a RT set are all set.
