摘要： PURPOSE:To produce artificial kaolinite in which plasticity is maintained at high level with superior formation efficiency by carrying out hydrothermal synthesis treatment together with water by using the hydrate of amorphous calcium silicate and the strong acid salt of Al. CONSTITUTION:Hydrothermal synthesis treatment is carried out together with water by using, as raw materials, the hydrate of amorphous calcium silicate and the strong acid salt of Al, such as AlCl3, to obtain kaolinite powder. It is desirable to use, as the hydrate of amorphous calcium silicate, the one having a composition in which the atomic ratio of calcium to silicic acid is regulated to 0.1-2.0. Since the irregular tetrahedron layer of the amorphous Si can be utilized by using the hydrate of amorphous calcium silicate as raw material, kaolinite crystal formation is allowed to occur uniformly and simultaneously over the whole reaction system. Accordingly, sheet-like kaolinite reduced in crystallinity is formed.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce hydrogarnet in a simple process by carrying out a hydrothermal treatment of a mixture of a silica source with an alumina source and a calcium source. SOLUTION: Kaolin, silica, amorphous silica, diatomaceous earth, silica sand, quartz, etc., are cited as a silica source. Kaolin, an alumina sol, boehmite, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, etc., are cited as an alumina source. Quick lime, slaked lime, gypsum, etc., are cited as a calcium source. The raw materials are mixed in a prescribed proportion and water in an adequate amount is subsequently added thereto. The resultant mixture is then subjected to a hydrothermal treatment which is preferably carried out at 130-200 deg.C hydrothermal treating temperature for about 15 h hydrothermal treating time by using, e.g. an autoclave. The resultant hydrogarnet has a high heat-resistant temperature and is capable of efficiently absorbing and fixing an acidic waste gas at a high temperature up to about 1,000 deg.C.

SOLUTION: A pottery stuck with a coloring material containing Cr2O3 and being free from lead is preferably fired by direct heating using a roller hearth kiln. In this firing process of the painted china pottery, the minimum oxygen concentration in the atmosphere is adjusted to >=8 vol.%, preferably 10 vol.%, further preferably 15 vol.% at least at the first half of the firing zone of the painted china pottery, preferably at the temp. that is higher than a temp. lower by 0-100 deg.C than the maximum temp. for the firing. At this time, the temp. range at the first half is preferably set to 800-900 deg.C, preferably 500-900 deg.C. Thereby, the foaming of the coloring material free from lead during firing is prevented and sufficient gloss is formed on the surface of fired coloring material, and further the pottery good in color development and gloss is obtained.

SOLUTION: A buffer material having deformability with 0.002-0.7 MPa stress when the original shape is deformed by 40%, is added to a kneaded clay, especially preferably to the kneaded clay comprising nonplastic particles such as alumina as an additive for imparting the plasticity to control the plasticity of the kneaded clay. The size of the buffer material is preferably 10-1,000 μm, and the buffer material having high water absorption such as the one having water-absorbing magnification of 5-500 times is preferably used. The proportion of the added buffer material is preferably 0.05-10 wt.% based on the amount (100 wt.%) of the particles of the kneaded clay. The buffer material is thought that when an external force is applied to the kneaded clay, the plasticity is heightened because the buffer material itself is deformed and assists the movement of the particles of the kneaded clay to heighten the fluidity of the clay.

The second stage comprises: adding a water-soluble salt of Ni or its aqueous solution to an aqueous liquid suspension of the Ni-containing platelike calcined material powdery particles obtained in the stage 1; thereafter, adjusting the pH of the resulting suspension to 9.0-14.0; aging this suspension at 0-30 deg.C to coat the surface of each of the Ni-containing platelike calcined material powdery particles with hydroxide or oxide of Ni; and thereafter, firing the coated powdery particles at 800-1,200 deg.C by heating them to obtain platelike spinel-type ferrite powdery particles.
