摘要： PURPOSE: To inexpensively produce color filters having good flatness, i.e., film thickness uniformity at a high yield by using a conductor formed like wire net as a counter electrode. CONSTITUTION: The wire net-like conductor is used as the counter electrode 3. In such a case, the size of the meshes of the wire net is not particularly limited and is preferably 1 to 200 meshes, more preferably 4 to 20 meshes. Of course, the size of the meshes of the wire net may be properly selected and used by the size of a substrate 1 formed with transparent thin films, i.e., desired color filters. The material to form the wire net is not particularly limited, insofar as this material is a conductor. The wire net made of copper or stainless steels, etc., are adequately used in the point of economy and durability. Needless to say, alloys of various kinds of metals, such as gold, silver, platinum or copper and iron, are usable. As a result, the color filters more flattened with colored coating films are obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a method for industrially advantageously correcting color filters which are impaired in flatness by the ruggedness formed in consequence of intrusion of foreign matter, flocculated matter of pigments, etc., into colored layers to such color filters as to allow production of a multicolor display device having a display grade which is by no means inferior to the display grade of a multicolor display device produced by the color filters which are not impaired in the flatness and do not, therefore, require correction at all. CONSTITUTION: This process for producing the color filters by forming the colored layers on the surface of a substrate comprises correcting the color filters by peeling the colored layers of the parts impaired in the flatness by the ruggedness formed in consequence of the intrusion of the foreign matter, flocculated matter of the pigments, etc., into the colored layers by irradiation with, for example, laser beams and applying a negative type photoresist compsn. contg. coloring materials in the whole of at least the peeled parts, then exposing the coating from the rear surface of the substrate and developing the compsn.

摘要： PURPOSE: To industrially advantageously produce color filters which are formed with colored coating films in a fine piece form and light shieldable coating films filling the spacings therebetween with good accuracy on a transparent substrate, are well prevented from light leakage, are not formed with the colored coating films on the light shieldable coating films and have excellent flatness and to produce a liquid crystal display device having high image quality. CONSTITUTION: A positive photoresist compsn. is applied over the entire surface of the transparent substrate 1 arranged with plural transparent conductive circuits 2 insulated from each other on its front surface and formed with light shieldable films 3 so as to expose the front surfaces of the transparent conductive circuits 2 in the fine piece form, by which an insulatable photoresist coating film 4 is formed. This photoresist coating film is exposed and developed from the rear surface of the substrate 1, by which the insulatable photoresist coating films 4 in the fine piece form on the transparent conductive circuits 2 are removed and the surfaces of the transparent conductive circuits 2 are exposed in the fine piece form. The colored coating films 5 are then formed by electrodeposition on the exposed transparent conductive circuits, by which the color filters having the colored coating films 5 in the fine piece form and the light shieldable films 3 in the spacings therebetween on the transparent substrate are produced. The liquid crystal display device is produced by using such color filters.
