    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical production method for an α-silyldifluoromethylcarbonyl compound usable as an important intermediate of medicinal and agricultural agents.SOLUTION: The α-silyldifluoromethylcarbonyl compound can be produced by deprotonating with a base the α position proton of a carbonyl compound and reacting it with a trifluoromethylsilane. Conventionally, such reaction form is absolutely not reported. The trifluoromethylsilane can be obtained in large quantity and is comparatively low in price. Further, compared with conventional reactions using a carbon nucleophilic agent, the method can obtain the target product as the main product without requiring an expensive catalyst. Finally, the obtained α-silyldifluoromethylcarbonyl compound is a new compound.
