The optical subscriber communication system finds out an ONU with an abnormal state including erroneous emission of light by transmitting a search command to each ONU by the optical pattern signal, and recovers the abnormal state of the ONU by transmitting an abnormality recovery command to the found out ONU with the abnormal state by the optical pattern signal.
