摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a composite optical element capable of being continuously released from a die by curing a resin layer formed on the surface of a glass substrate in the die with ruggednesses provided on the forming surface to facilitate die release and releasing the resin layer from the die. CONSTITUTION:A requisite amt. of a curable resin 22a is discharged on the surface of a glass substrate 21. A die 20 is then lowered to spread the resin 22a over the forming surface 20a. The lowering of the die 20 is then stopped, and a resin layer 22 having a desired optical surface is formed. The outermost periphery of the resin layer 22 is brought into contact with the ruggednesses 23 formed on the die 20, and the resin layer 22 is cured. The die 20 is then raised, the substrate 21 ascending along with the die is blocked by a stopper 26, the resin layer 22 is released from the die 20, and a composite optical element with the substrate 21 and the resin layer 22 bound together is obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture a highly accurate lenticular lens array and a display element so well in terms of mass production by installing this lenticular lens array consisting of low melting point glass formed on a transparent glass substrate. CONSTITUTION:Light in an opening and in and around this opening is condensed on the opening of each picture element by means of a lenticular lens array 7 consisting of low melting point glass 4 formed on a transparent glass substrate 3. Therefore an opening factor in the picture element grows larger in substance, making such a display as bright in scope and excellent in display quality securable. A suchlike display element is subjected to hot forming with press forming dies 1, 2 formed into the desired lenticular lens array 7. With this constitution, the highly accurate lenticular lens array and the display element are manufacturable so well in terms of mass production.

摘要： Described are laminated structures consisting essentially of a light weight interior member prepared from a glass, glass-ceramic, or ceramic, an exterior member prepared from a glass, glass-ceramic, or ceramic, and a bonding member prepared from a glass, glass-ceramic, or ceramic. The light weight interior member may be composed of a porous body, a corrugated body, or a honeycomb body. In a preferred embodiment, at least one of said members is reinforced through the entrainment of ceramic fibers and/or whiskers. In the most preferred embodiment, each exterior and interior member is reinforced through the entrainment of ceramic fibers and/or whiskers and the bonding member is reinforced through the entrainment of ceramic whiskers. Also described are bonded ceramic matrix composite structures such as ceramic panels or beams, and a method for making them, the structures comprising ceramic facing sheets to which are bonded one or an array of relatively thin-walled, hollow, high-stiffness channeled ceramic support elements (2), the support elements being of modular design with each support being formed by a continuous composite ceramic wall incorporating multidirectional fiber reinforcement and defining a central channel extending, in the bonded structure, in a direction generally parallel with the ceramic facing sheets (1). Methods are shown for making these laminated and bonded composite structures.

摘要： PURPOSE:To form an optical lens having high surface precision and thickness accuracy, by using a spacer having higher thermal expansion coefficient than the glass gob, and allowing the mold to follow the dimensional change of the spacer caused by the thermal shrinkage during the press molding process. CONSTITUTION:A glass gob 1 supported at the circumference and heated to soften at least the surface part, is clamped with the forming faces of a pair of opposite molds 4, 5 to manufacture a formed glass. In the above process, the movement of the molds 4, 5 during the press molding is checked by the spacer 2 attached closely to the molds 4, 5. The spacer 2 is made of a material having higher thermal expansion coefficient than the glass gob 1, and the movement of the molds 4, 5 during the press molding is allowed to follow the dimensional change caused by the thermal shrinkage of the spacer 2. The pressure applied to the glass gob 1 by the forming surface of the molds 4, 5 and the moving speed of the mold can be controlled accurately. An optical lens having extremely high surface precision and thickness accuracy can be formed by this process.
