摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To crack or break the deposited ice on an external plate by providing an inflatable, tubular member below an outer surface of a leading edge formed of the material with the elastic modulus at least not less than the prescribed value, and generating distortion of the outer surface and the strain in the chord direction on the outer surface within the prescribed period of time after the inflation is started. SOLUTION: The elastic modulus of an outer surface layer 12 of a leading edge is 40,000kPa, and an inflatable member 24 is of tubular structure formed of the woven fabric which is extended along the length of an ice removing device and one side of which is coated with the blended rubber for rubber coating. The inflatable member 24 is of the size and shape in which an outer plate on the outer side is deformed above the tubular member so that the elongation does not exceed 0.25cm when the member is generally inflated to the degree of about 69kPa-276kPa, and the member is periodically operated within 0.25 second. An outer plate on the outer side is distorted as the tubular member 24 is inflated. Distortion in the chord direction is generated in the outer plate on the outer side to break adhesion of ice to the outer plate.

摘要： An inflatable deicer boot for mounting on an airfoil with at least one leading edge tubular member positioned in the area of the stagnation line of the airfoil. The boot also has a plurality of upper and lower inflatable passages on either side of the leading edge tubular member. In the inflation sequence of the deicing cycle, the leading edge tubular member is inflated before inflation of the upper and lower inflatable passages to crack the ice formed on the outside surface of the boot at the stagnation line of the airfoil. The upper and lower inflatable passages are then inflated to shatter and eject the ice formed on the boot over the upper and lower inflatable passages. Means are then provided to deflate the tubular member for a predetermined time after which the deicing cycle is repeated.
