    • PURPOSE:To radiate heat efficiently from a radiator for heating a vehicle room with radiant heat produced by hot water flowing through the radiator by disposing an opening near the radiator and within the vehicle room connected to the external air. CONSTITUTION:A heating radiator 14 comprising a plurality of hot water pipes is covered with a cover 19 having multiple holes at its upper part. Multiple openings 27 to be opened or closed by a damper 20 are provided on a floor 21 at the lower part of the radiator 14. A duct 22 is disposed below the opening 27 and connected to external air intake openings 23, 25 respectively provided on an outer panel 28 and an inner panel 24 of a vehicle. The damper 20 is provided with a knob 29 for operation. When the knob 29 is placed to 'high', the damper 20 opens the opening 27 to introduce external air and to cool the heating radiator 14 by forced convection. Thus external air is heated to heat the room with a large capacity.

    • PURPOSE: To improve heating faculty by switching the taking-out part for the hot water for heating an engine which executes evaporative cooling to a cylinder head part close to the liquid level in cold operation and to a water jacket part sufficiently lower than the liquid surface on warming.
      CONSTITUTION: In the cooling system for an internal combustion engine 1, a pump 4 is operation-controlled according to the signal of a water-temperature sensor 35 and a liquid-level meter 34 in normal operation, and the steam evaporated in a cylinder head 6 is allowed to circulate into a cylinder block 5 through a pipe 9, condenser 3, lower tank 4, and a pipe 16. When the car interior is heated, the hot cooling-water in close to the liquid surface in the cylinder head 6 is introduced into a heater core 40 through a pipe 42 in cold operation, and allowed to circulate by a pump 41, and heating operation is performed. In warming operation, water is introduced by a temperature sensing selector valve 44 from the water jacket part 2A sufficiently under the liquid surface of the cylinder head 6 through a pipe 43, and heating faculty can be improved by the coolant containing little steam.

    • PURPOSE:To improve rise of heating and stability after the rise, by a method wherein the one of 2 hot water outlet ports is positioned in the vicinity of a position under a liquid surface in a water jacket and the other is positioned below the one port, and the outlet ports are selectively opened and closed depending on the boiling condition of coolant. CONSTITUTION:During heating-up operation after the starting of an engine 1, a water jacket 2 is filled with cooling liquid. In which case, a control circuit 11 discriminates heating-up operation by means of signals from liquid surface sensors 10 and 20 and a temperature sensor 14, and a first electromagnetic valve 34 is opened and a second electromagnetic valve 35 is closed. Thus, when a circulating pump 27 is driven along with operation of a heater, cooling liquid having a relatively high temperature is sucked out through an upper first hot water outlet 30 and is fed to a heater core 25. Meanwhile, when the liquid surface of the cooling liquid is lowered to a specified value and a liquid temperature is increased to higher than a given value, the control circuit 11 discriminates it to close the first electromagnetic valve 34 and open the second electromagnetic valve 35. This causes hot water containing less steam to be guided out through a second hot water outlet 31.
