    • PURPOSE:To fix a lead wire simply and surely by soldering or the like through cutting the lead wire fitted into a hollow pin of a base while being led out from the end part of a light transmissive airtight container of a fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION:The light transmissive airtight container 1 of a fluorescent lamp is held by an upper holder 14 and a lower holder 15 while necessary adjustment being made so that the upper part of a rotary disc cutter 13 may move along the end face of a hollow pin 4 of the base 3 of the fluorescent lamp. And the rotary disc cutter 13 is made to move along the end face of the hollow pin 4 of the base 3 by moving a lever 10 for cutting a lead wire, which is fitted into and led out from the hollow pin 4, along the end face of the hollow pin 4. Thereby, no variety in the length of the base hollow pin is generated while cuasing no cutting of the base hollow pin, thus making it possible to maintain the hollow pin in the desired shape and to perform the work of soldering or the like extremely simple and completely.

    • PURPOSE:To easily and surely mold the lead wire even when it is expanded and enlarged by rotating a pair of arms by 90 deg. around the axis of fluorescent lamp in the reverse direction, holding a lead wire with corresponding pair of arms and molding the lead wire by arms, nail of arm and molding die. CONSTITUTION:Two pairs of arms 1, 1a, and 2, 2a with the nails 3, 3a, 4, 4a molded at the end thereof approach two positions on the circumference of bulb a opposed to each other in the radial direction. The arms 1 and 2a simultaneously rotates by about 90 deg. clockwise, while the arms 1a and 2 rotate counterclockwise in the similar way. The corresponding arms 1 and 2, 1a and 2a hold the lead wire respectively and move in the axial direction, apart from the bulb end. Simultaneously, the molding die 5 comes close to the end point of bulb. The arms 1, 2a rotates counter clockwise, while the arms 1a, 2 rotate clockwise respectively by 90 deg.. The molding die also moves in the axial direction, apart from the end point of bulb. The one cycle of molding lead wire is thus completed.

    • PURPOSE:To cut the lead wire while it is transferred continuously and realize speed-up of manufacture by providing, in the course of the base pin transfer route, a pair of press disks which are rotating in the reverse directions each other and a cutter which operates cooperatively with the least the one of them adjacent to said disks. CONSTITUTION:A bulb (a) is transferred in the direction X by the continuous transfer conveyor. Base pins (p) are put on a guide (g), arranged horizontally and are sent toward the space between a pair of press plates 5 and 5a. Almost simultaneously with the timing of the preceding base pin (p) to enter the positioning concave 71 of the positioning plate 7 rotating clockwise, the end of base pin p is brought in contact with the external circumference of press plate 5a at the lower side. When the plate 7 further rotates, the lead wire enters the concave 61 of cutter 6 and the lead wire is cut by the blade 62 at the bottom of concave 61 at the position rotated by theta from the initial position. Thereby, speed- up in manufacture of bulb can be realized.

    • PURPOSE:To expand and shape external conductors in such a manner that they are equally apart from the center of the axis of a tubular bulb by providing the body of a shaping device with mechanisms for detecting the positions of external conductors and shaping members for separating and pressing the external conductors along the directions of their arrangements in such a manner that these mechanisms and members face the ends of the bulb. CONSTITUTION:Bulbs 1 for straight tubular fluorescent lamps are transferred by a conveyer in order. An exhaust tube 2 and external conductors 3 and 4 are led out from the ends of the bulb 1. The conductors 3 and 4 are curved perpendicular to the axis (O1) of the bulb 1 on both sides of the exhaust tube 2. A foundation 6 is fixed to conveyer base plates 5 and 5. A sliding block 9 is guided toward the arrangement of the conductors 3 and 4 in such a manner that it can be freely slid. Mechanisms 17 and 18 for expanding and shaping the conductors 3 and 4 are installed on supporting rails 16 and 16 for the block 9. The holder 22 of a separating pin 23 is fixed to a shaft 21 which is installed across the metallic supporting members 19 and 20 of the mechanisms 17 and 18 in such a manner that it can be freely slid. In addition, a light emitting element 29 and a photodetector element 30 are installed facing each other on metallic members 27 and 28 which are attached to the metallic supporting member 20 and extend from it vertically upward, thereby enabling the conductors 3 and 4 to be shaped.

    • PURPOSE:To produce a ring-type fluorescent lamp without damaging base pins by cutting lead wires at the tips of the base pins with the tips of the lead wires being stretched and soldering after the cutoff tips are placed inside the tips of the base pins. CONSTITUTION:Lead wires 2, 2 are cut with a cutter near the tips of base pins 5, 5 while the lead wires 2, 2 are stretched with a chuck 8 within an elastic limit, thereby the lead wires 2, 2 shrink naturally due to the elasticity after cutting and their tips retreat into the base pins 5, 5 and do not protrude.
