摘要： PURPOSE:To check the normality of data about embroidery by transferring data about stitches stored on a memory card to a central processing unit to compute absolute coordinates, and comparing the data with data about the range of coordinates stored in the central processing unit, and eliminating the data about stitches when the absolute coordinates are out of the range. CONSTITUTION:An absolute coordinates computing portion 10 reads data about stitches in sequence from a memory card 6 via a card connector 4, a port 3 and a data read portion 9 and computes absolute coordinates in sequence from the data about stitches consisting of relative coordinates. The results of these computations are sequentially output to a comparing portion 11 in synchronization with comparison signals and it is determined whether the absolute coordinates are within the movable range of an embroidery frame stored in progress on a first memory ROM. When the absolute coordinates are within the range, all the data about stitches are read. When the absolute coordinates move out of the movable range of the embroidery frame, the data about stitches stored on the memory card 6 are judged as being not normal and a data eliminating portion 1 3 stops reading of the data read portion 9 and the data about stitches stored on the card 6 are eliminated and the card is initialized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide an external memory of an electronically controlled sewing machine capable of storing data about the seams of patterns and data about displays and of increasing the number of patterns that it can store so that the sewing machine has applicability to general purposes. CONSTITUTION:A sewing machine has its needle and work cloth moved relative to each other in X-Y direction according to drive data indicating the position of the needle. Data about seams and data about displays are both stored by condensation method in a ROM 51 which is an external memory, and a conversion program for converting the condensed data about seams into drive data indicating the needle position, and a conversion program for converting the condensed data about displays into data about dot patterns are stored in the memory. Therefore, any condensation method can be employed and so the applicability of the sewing machine can be enhanced.
