    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer used for a hole transporting layer for an organic electroluminescent element with a high adhesiveness to the anode and capable of achieving emission with high luminance by applying a low voltage, the hole transporting layer and the organic electroluminescent element using the polymer, and a method for producing them. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element which has a thin hole transporting layer with a good thickness precision and surface smoothness and exhibits a high luminance with a low applied voltage can be prepared by combining the hole transporting layer using a polymer of ethylenedicarboxylic acid derivatives, in which an N,N-aryl substituted amino group exhibiting hole transporting properties such as N,N-diphenylaminophenyl group or 9-carbazolyl group is combined in a molecule, with an amino group-containing coupling agent on the anode surface by chemisorption, an amide bond or an imide bond.
