A support means 32 arranged in a drag support mechanism 26 is inserted into the through hole 30, the support mechanism 32 is abutted on the joint surface between the mold 12 and mold 18, supporting the mold 12. An upper sheell mold pressurizing mechanism 14 is arranged with the first pressurizing means 36 at the position corresponding to the support means 32, when the upper shell mold pressurizing mechanism 14 descends, the mold 12 is held by the first pressurizing means 36 and support means 32. Further, a lower shell mold support mechanism 26 is arranged with the second pressurizing means 38 and the upper shell mold pressurizing mechanism 14 is arranged with the third pressurizing means 40 at the position corresponding to the second pressurizing means 38, by these both means 38, 40, both molds 12, 18 are joined.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the filling property by controlling the flowing-out of fine particles. CONSTITUTION:A through hole 14a is cut in a plate body 14 which is fixed to the lower end of a blowhead 10 to store the molding sand S by means of a mounting member 12. A baffle plate 16 is fixed to the upper surface of the plate body 14 by six fixing bolts 18, and a plate packing 20 made of elastic rubber is fitted to the through hole 14a. A through hole 22 is cut in the plate packing 20, and a plurality of V-shaped grooves 24 are provided in parallel to each other on the upper surface in the right-to-left direction, and a plurality of fine particulate passages 24 of triangular section are formed between the groove and the buffle plate 16. When the compressed air is supplied to theinside of the blowhead 10, the molding sand S in the blowhead 10 is flowed out from the fine particle passages 24 which are arranged in parallel to an opening part 22, and the flow of the molding sand S is appropriately straightened, and successively filled in a cavity 6.

    • PURPOSE:To form a uniform and suitable coating layer by using RCS coated with phenol base synthetic resin for molding and applying a specified slurry coating on this surface after heat treating. CONSTITUTION:At first, RCS is used and by using a shell mold method heat- treated at 70-400 deg.C, a sand core original mold is molded and successively, the coating is applied to the hot sand core original mold. By this method, solvent vaporization from the coating is promoted and viscosity of the coating is raised to form the good coating layer. Then as the coating, those of 50-90wt.% solid content containing pulverized silica and pulverized alumina as the main components and added with small quantity of coloidal silica is used. Successively, as the coated sand core is manufactured by drying the sand core original mold obtd. with coating, the coating layer having uniform and suitable thickness can be formed without repelling the coating agent from the surface of the sand core original mold.
