    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of strict temperature control of an optical fiber and to obtain stable wavelength drawing by a wavelength selecting device in a small device.
      SOLUTION: A wavelength selecting device (5) of a bulk shape is used. An optical fiber (2) is provided between the output surface of a semiconductor laser (1) and the wavelength selecting device (5). Temperature control of the wavelength selecting device (5) is carried out with a thermostat module (7b). The optical fiber (2) without the need of strict temperature control is shaped to be a coil compactly so that the external resonator length of the wavelength selecting device (5) is made sufficiently longer than the coherence length. Thereby, stable wavelength drawing is realized in a small device.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser module and its optical axis adjustment method for facilitating optical axis adjustment with a minute waveguide in a short time.
      SOLUTION: The laser module is constituted of a laser device LD, an optical waveguide device SHG having the optical waveguide, lenses L1, L2 which collect light from the laser device LD to be received on the waveguide of the optical waveguide device SHG and actuators M1, M2 which positions spot positions by the lenses L1, L2 in the three-dimensional direction, etc. When intensity of emitted light from the waveguide is below a determined value, the spot positions are adjusted in the light axis direction, to be defocused, next, the spot positions are adjusted in the vertical direction and the horizontal direction for alignment and then, the spot positions are adjusted in the light axis direction to be focused.
