    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a display device which detects the actual capacitance of a display element without providing excess pixels such as dummy pixels and automatically adjusts an optimal drive condition according to the detection result.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display element 10 which has a memory property for maintaining a display state even after the display element is driven and then the driving is released; a capacitance detection circuit 14 which detects a capacitance shown by the display element; and drive condition adjustment circuits 23, 24 which drive the display element under a prescribed drive condition to set the display state and then, based on the capacitance of the display element showing the display state detected by the capacitance detection circuit, automatically adjust the drive condition of the display element.
