    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of producing a high-quality polybutylene succinate.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing a polybutylene succinate includes steps of: mixing a succinic acid or its derivative with a 1,4-butanediol in a raw material slurry preparation tank to produce raw material slurry; retaining the raw material slurry while keeping its fluidity in a raw material slurry storage tank; performing an esterification reaction of the raw material slurry in an esterification reactor; and performing polycondensation reaction of the ester in a polycondensation reactor to synthesize the polybutylene succinate. In the polycondensation reactor, which is divided into at least an initial polycondensation reactor, an intermediate polycondensation reactor, and a last polycondensation reactor from the upstream side; a catalyst of 1,000-3,000 ppm is added with respect to the succinic acid or its derivative. A reaction time in the intermediate polycondensation reactor is 0.25-0.75 hours. A reaction temperature in the last polycondensation reactor is 245-255°C.
