SOLUTION: The experimental apparatus which comprises a separator 13 and first and second vessels 41, 42 connected via the separator 13, and is used for the electrolysis of water in aqueous liquid charged into the first and second vessels 41, 42 further comprises: a first electrode 11 disposed in the first vessel 41; a second electrode 12 disposed in the second vessel 42; a first collection part which collects a first gas generated on the surface of the first electrode 11; and a second collection part which collects a second gas generated on the surface of the second electrode 12, wherein the first electrode 11 and the second electrode 12 are arranged so as to sandwich the separator 13.
