摘要： PURPOSE:To enable a user to edit a document with high efficiency by providing a sentence importance deciding means which calculates the importance of each sentence forming the document in relation to other sentences and a topic extracting means which extracts the topics out of the sentences. CONSTITUTION:The document data inputted from a document input part 1 are sent to a sentence importance deciding part 3, a topic extracting part 4, and a processing part 5 via a control part 2. At the part 3 the important sentences are taken out of the paragraphs in a document by means of the expressions of the conjunctions, etc., of each sentence forming the document and then the connecting expressions, i.e., the conjunctions are extracted out of the sentence expressions. Then the part 3 decides the importance of the sentences decided for each conjunction and the important sentences are successively decided in the paragraphs. Then the part 4 extracts a flow of topics where the sentences are described. In this case, a topical word is extracted out of an expression like the Japanese 'WA', etc., the postpositional words functioning as the auxiliaries to the main words. Thus the document producing/ editing efficiency is improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a user for inputting a sentence by notifying it to the user that the string of square forms of KANA (Japanese syllabary) is directly inputted and the character string is registered in a dictionary. CONSTITUTION:When the character string is inputted from a keyboard 1 to a Japanese processing part 3, the character string is sent to a square form of KANA deciding part 32. It is checked whether the square form of KANA is included in the character string or not and when the square form of KANA is included, the part of the square form of KANA is taken out of the character string and converted to a KANA string. This KANA string is converted by using KANA-KANJI (Chinese character) converting part 33 and a converted result is investigated. When the converted result is coincident with the string of the square forms of KANA, the character string is displayed as a message on a display. Afterwards, the input character string is set to the KANA-KANJI converting part 33 and processing is finished.
