    • PURPOSE:To enable reliable detection of tension of a thread and the like at each end, by a method wherein the tension detection signals measured at the opposite ends of a tension detecting roll is proportionally distributed according to load distribution on the thread and the like, and the one detection signal is subtracted from the other detection signal. CONSTITUTION:When detecting the tension of a thread 41 on a beam 21 of a tension detecting roll 3, a detection signal A1 of a tension detector 71 is inputted as a positive signal to an input terminal 10a to increase it by R-fold by means of a setter 11, and after a signal A2 from a detector 72 is fed to a terminal 10b, it is converted into a negative signal by an inversion device 13 to increase it by 4/12R-fold by means of a setter 14, both results being fed to a summation point 12. A signal B1 from this point is fed to an operational amplifier 15 to increase it by 12/8R-fold to produce a signal including only F1, which produces a tension signal C1 of the force F1 through an inversion device 16 to output it to a terminal 17. In such a manner described above, when the signal A2 of the detector 72 is increased by 4/12-fold and subtracted from the signal A1 of the detector 71, a tension signal C1 corresponding to a force F1 of a center load may be fetched. This enables improvement in precision of control of delivery and winding tensions.
