    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wider choices for selecting an installation place, to improve visibility and to install a unit in a place where an operation is easy by separating an operation switch part, a display part and a sound generation device from an on-vehicle unit main body and sharing the display part and the sound generation device with a navigation system. SOLUTION: A digital circuit 15 and a connection part 16 are incorporated in an on-vehicle unit main body 10. The connection part 16 is disposed so as to be connected with an IC card 18 inserted from the IC card insertion port 17 of the on-vehicle unit main body 10. A key depression switch 12, a display part 13 and a sound generation device 14 are made independent of the on-vehicle unit main body 10 and are connected to the digital circuit 15 through cables. The display part 13 and the sound generation device 14 are installed in a place, where visibility is good and sound is easily heard. The key depression switch 12 is installed in a place where it can operated easily be. In a vehicle loading a navigation system, the display part and the sound generation device of the navigation system are shared as the display part 13 and the sound generation device 14.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent application of a voltage or an allowable voltage or more to various units and to prevent damage of the units by so controlling a regeneratively braking amount that voltage and charging current of a battery become predetermined voltage and current values or less at the time of the regeneratively braking a motor. CONSTITUTION:The motor controller for an electric vehicle comprises current detecting means 10 to detect a charging current flowing to a battery 4, and auxiliary control means 8 of the controller 3 to control the current. Further, the controller comprises voltage detecting means 7 installed to detect a voltage of the battery 4 and to output a detected voltage value to the means 8 of the controller 3. In the case where the battery 4 is fully charged, when a motor 1 is relatively largely regeneratively braked, the voltage of the battery 4 becomes higher than a predetermined voltage value. In this case, the means 8 of the controller 3 monitors the voltage of the battery 4, controls the regeneratively braking amount of the motor 1, and prevents the voltage of the battery 4 from becoming the allowable value or more. Thus, damage of various units, deterioration and damage of the battery are prevented.
