    • PURPOSE:To obtain a thermosensitive recording material having good head matching properties and high chemical resistance by containing pigment having a mean particle size of 0.1-1mum in a protective layer in an amount of 0.5-40% on a dry wt. basis. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer containing pigment having a mean particle size of 0.1-1mum in an amount of 0.5-40% on a dry wt. basis is provided on a thermosensitive color developing layer. In case of pigment having the mean particle size smaller than 0.1mum, secondary flocculation is generated and coating surface quality and chemical resistance are deteriorated. In case of pigment having a mean particle size larger than 1mum, unless the protective layer is thickly applied, chemical resistance is deteriorated because of the discontinuity of the interface of the pigment and a binder and that of the upper and lower binder layers of the pigment. However, by thick coating, only thermosensitive paper inferior to color developing properties is obtained. By this method, a thermosensitive recording sheet having good head matching properties and improved in the preservability to the chemicals of a color-undeveloped part and a color-developed part is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording sheet having water resistance and oil resistance and capable of realizing good-quality printing without interruption with coloration and lowering of sensitivity by adding a 6-membered cyclic tri-borate to an overcoat layer composed primarily of a water-solule high molecular compound provided on a thermal color-forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A 6-membered cyclic tri-boric acid ester corresponds with an organoboron compound having a structure with one borate residue forming 6-member ring with long alkyl group in its molecule, which is represented by the general formula, where X, X'ss, X'', Y, Y'. and Y'' are each H, CH3, C20H5-, C3H7-, CH3O-, C2H5O-, CH3OCH3-, or R'COOCH2-(where R' is a 1C-23C alkyl or alkenl), R is a 1C-24C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkylaryl, alkyloyl, or alkenyloyl, n is 2, 3, or 4, and m is an integer of 0-50. The compound of the formula is excellent as solvent, lubricant, antistatic agent for synthetic resins, and water- or oil-soluble surfactants, featuring having polar and nonpolar portions in its molecule and being very well compatible with water-soluble high molecular compounds. Also, the compound can give an ade quate thickening property and make the surface of hydrophobic substances to be added to the overcost layer hydrophilic. The addition of the compound prevents the occurrence of water repellency, pinholes, uneven recording, etc., and also enhances adhesion with thermal color-forming layer.

CONSTITUTION:The ink surface of a thermal transfer material formed by applying heat meltable ink (e.g., wax type ink with an m.p. of 50-90 deg.C) onto a thin sheet and the color forming surface of a heat sensitive recording sheet formed by coating a support with a heat sensitive element having a color phase different from that of said ink and capable of developing a color at a temp. higher than the transfer temp. of the ink are superposed to obtain a recording sheet wherein the monochrome of the transferred ink is obtained by heating at a low temp. while the mixed color of the transferred ink and the developed color of the heat sensitive layer is obtained by heating at a high temp. to perform two-color recording having different color tones on the heat sensitive sheet. EFFECT:The color forming part of the heat sensitive layer faded by water in itself is covered with the wax or the petroleum resin of the heat meltable ink to be provided with water resistance and esterification resistance.

CONSTITUTION:A transfer sheet for preparation of secret documents is produced by forming a coated paper with an usual paper transfer type recording layer by using a coating liquid containing capsules with an ultraviolet rays absorber [2-(2'-hydroxy-5'-methylphenyl) benzotriazole, etc.] and a wax (paraffin wax, etc.). The ultraviolet rays absorber used is preferably dissolved in a nonvolatile oil as a vehicle, and its preferred amount to be dissolved in the vehicle is 0.5- 5wt%. The preferred amount of the wax is 5-100% on the basis of the solid content of the capsule. EFFECT:Latent image can be obtained simply by pressing the transfer sheet on usual papers and can also be confirmed by a fluorescent inspection lamp.
