    • PURPOSE: To make feedback control on the air-fuel ratio of a mixture with high accuracy, by providing an air-fuel ratio control means capable of compensating the opening of a throttle or the quantity of fuel supply after receiving the output from an air-fuel ratio sensor and an intake air quantity detecting means.
      CONSTITUTION: An operation means 35 calculates the opening of a throttle valve 37 after receiving an output from an acceleration detecting means 34. An air-fuel ratio control means 41 receives the output from an air-fuel ratio sensor 39 and an intake air quantity detecting means 40 and compensates the quantity of fuel supply it an engine is running with an intake air quantity less than the set value. On the other hand, if the engine is running with an intake air quantity more than the set value, either the opening of the throttle valve 37 or the quantity of fuel supply is compensated. Thus a highly accurate feedback control of the air-fuel ratio of a mixture can be effected on the overall range of engine operation.

The degree thetaR of opening of a throttle valve is feedback-controlled to be equal to the aimed opening degree theta1. A means 37 for setting an upper limit value Camax to compensation in the feedback control of the throttle valve is provided. When a compensated value in the feedback control of the throttle valve exceeds the upper limit value Camax, the feedback compensation is stopped. Uncontrolled operation at the time of defectiveness of a sensor for detecting the degree of opening of the throttle valve or the quantity of intake is thus prevented to enhance safety.

      CONSTITUTION: In this system the operating range is divided into a section with smaller air-fuel ratio and another with larger air-fuel ratio. An air-fuel ratio changeover means changes over the air-fuel ratio upon receiving the output of an operating range sensing means. An air-fuel ratio setting means receives the output of a throttle change rate sensing means, and increases the change rate of air-fuel ratio at the time of changing over the air-fuel ratio, wherein the change rate shall be greater as the change rate of throttle opening increases. Thus uncomfortable variation of the torque can be eliminated when the opeerating range is switched, which will well enhance the driving characteristics.

CONSTITUTION:A fuel control means 8 such as a fuel injection valve is disposed in an intake passage 5 on the upstream side of a throttle valve 7. In case that the degree of change in the opening of the throttle valve is higher than a prescribed value and it is judged by an acceleration detecting means 20 that an engine is in acceleration, control is made to increase the injection quantity of fuel by an acceleration fuel increasing means 21. Further, a predetermined period after control of increasing fuel for acceleration by the means 21 is terminated is detected by a period detecting means 22. When the engine is within the above predetermined period, control of increasing fuel for acceleration by the acceleration fuel increasing means 21 is interrupted by a means 23 for interrupting fuel increase for acceleration. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent the air-fuel ratio from becoming over-rich due to repeated fuel increasing caused by repeated depressions of an accelerator pedal.

CONSTITUTION:An exhaust sensor 15 is mounted in an exhaust passage 13 upstream of a ternary catalyst 14, and a secondary air supply conduit 16 is connected to further upstream thereof. The other end of the secondary air supply conduit 16 is opened to the atmosphere, and on the way thereof, a check valve 17 and an opening and closing valve 18 of a suction operative type are mounted in series, so as to supply secondary air to the exhaust passage 13 by the exhaust pulsation when the opening and closing valve 18 is opened. A suction chamber 18b of the opening and closing valve 18 is communicated with an atmospheric opening port 20d or a connecting port 20b of a signal pipe 21 in communication with a surge-tank 7 through a three-way electromagnetic change-over valve 20. In this case, a reservoir tank 22 is interposed as a retardation device between the change-over valve 20 and the suction chamber 18b, on the way of a signal pipe 19.

CONSTITUTION:When a constant-speed operation switch 9 is turned ON, a switching circuit 12 is shifted to the position shown by the solid line in the drawing, and an amplified output of a vehicle-speed setter 4 and an amplified deviation between the output of the vehicle-speed setter 4 and that of a vehicle-speed detector 5 are added at an adder 8 of a constant-speed operation control means 21. The added value is applied to a differential amplifier 13 together with the output of a throttle valve opening detector 19, and the opening of a throttle valve 18 is controlled automatically by controlling a DC motor 17 according to a constant-speed operation control signal (a) obtained from the deviation. Here, if the temperature of a catalyst means disposed in the exhaust system is raised extraordinarily during the constant-speed operation of the engine, a catalyst temperature switch 10 is turned ON, and the switching circuit 12 is shifted to the position shown by the broken line in the drawing by an AND-circuit 11 to which an inverted signal of the switch 10 is applied.
