SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a pot 2; a heating means 5; a cover 3 which is supported by a pivot 3a to cover an opening part of the pot so that it can freely open and close; and the inner lid 4 which is mounted inside the cover 3 by a fixing means 12 and an engagement means 15 and rotates and moves to the pot side around the engagement means 15 to be the pivot side of the cover 3 when the fixing means 12 is canceled when the cover is open. Between the engagement means 15 and the inner lid 4, a deceleration means 16 for suppressing an acceleration in rotating movement to the pot side of the inner lid is provided. Thus, acceleration in the rotating movement of the inner lid is suppressed by the operation of the deceleration means 16, and psychological anxiety caused by a slammed inner lid 4 toward a user and the damage of the inner lid 4 or the engagement means 15 caused by a long term use is therefore reduced, and the operability of attaching/detaching the inner lid 4 to/from the cover 3 can be improved.
