SOLUTION: The soil heating system includes: a pressure vessel 11 having an electric heater 11b and a water receiving container 11a therein; an air introduction part 14 for introducing pressurized air into the pressure vessel 11; a water tank 15 and a water feed valve 16 for feeding water to the receiving container; a gas feed pipe 12 which is embedded in soil G and sprays pressurized vapor generated in the pressure vessel 11 from a spraying port 12c to the soil G; and a spraying valve 13 which is disposed between the pressure vessel 11 and the spraying port 12c and which communicates and shuts down between the pressure vessel 11 and the gas feed pipe 12. Moreover, the pressure vessel 11, after pressurized air is introduced into the container, pressurizes the water fed to the receiving container 11a with an electric heater 11b to generate pressurized vapor.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating dug soil containing arsenic which can perform insolubilization of arsenic and solidification of dug soil at a low cost and, moreover, allows the dug soil after the treatment to exhibit alkalescence or neutrality.
      SOLUTION: The method of treating dug soil containing arsenic comprises a process of mixing the dug soil containing arsenic with a material which contains a gypsum type solidifying agent but contains neither quick lime nor iron salt, or mixing the dug soil with two kinds of materials selected from the quick lime, gypsum type solidifying agent such as hemihydrate gypsum and iron salt such as ferrous sulfate.

      SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for separating/removing toxic substances is composed of: an airtight housing body 3 in which oil-contaminated soil 2 containing oil is housed; an exhaust pipe 4 communicated with the airtight space in the housing body; a vacuum pump 6 connected to the exhaust pipe while interposing a gas-liquid separation tank 5 between them; and a collection instrument 7 connected to the downstream side of the vacuum pump. The pressure in the housing body is reduced by withdrawing a gas in the housing body 3 through the exhaust pipe 4 so that the oil in the oil-contaminated soil 2 is volatilized by means of a boiling-point descent effect caused by the pressure reduction in the housing body 3 and the volatilized oil is discharged to the outside of the housing body 3.

      SOLUTION: The subject cleaning system for polluted soil is provided with: an agitation device 1 agitating and mixing the soil polluted with the heavy metals with an aqueous solution; a cleaning agent adding device adding a cleaning agent to at least one of the polluted soil, aqueous solution, and a mixture of the polluted soil with the aqueous solution; a solid/liquid separation device 3 separating the polluted soil added with the cleaning agent and agitated and mixed with the aqueous solution into solid and liquid phases; and a heavy metal removal device removing the heavy metals incorporated in the separated water separated into the liquid phase, thereby reusing the separated water as the aqueous solution by removing the heavy metals from the separated water. The system is further provided with: an electric conductivity measuring device 5 measuring the electric conductivity of the separated water; and a controller 6 determining whether or not to newly add the cleaning agent based on a measuring result of the electric conductivity, and controlling a type or an amount of a newly added cleaning agent.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize incineration ash as a recycled material by separating/ removing boron contained in the incineration ash, especially in coal ash in large quantities.
      SOLUTION: In a method for separating and removing boron, an acidic solution is added to a boron-containing substance such as coal ash to prepare an object to be treated and the boron-containing substance in the object to be treated is brought into contact with the acidic solution to elute boron contained in the boron-containing substance into the acidic solution. Subsequently, the object to be treated is subjected to solid-liquid separation to be separated into a treated liquid into which boron is eluted and a treated solid matter from which boron is separated and removed. The treated liquid is further subjected to solid-liquid separation and the obtained solid is dehydrated to be subjected to disposal treatment while the treated solid matter is rinsed and washed with water to remove the acidic solution and born left in the treated solid matter. Next, the solid matter left after rinsing and washing is dehydrated.
