    • PURPOSE:To always detect the abnormality of a secondary battery when a battery is mounted without operating main body equipment by detecting open- circuit voltage so as to be capable of detecting the abnormality of the secondary battery even when the main body equipment is not operated. CONSTITUTION:When main body equipment 2 is turned ON, a discharge control part 5 closes a feed switch 4 to start the drive of a battery. The residual capacity of a secondary battery 1 at this time is detected by an applied voltage detection circuit 3 and a detection signal is outputted when voltage drops to a degree insufficient to discharge. The control part 5 confirms the detection signal and closes the switch 4 to complete the drive of the battery. However, when an open-circuit voltage detection circuit 6 detects the abnormality of the battery 1 before the control part 5 closes the switch 4, the control part 5 does not close the switch 4 said detection signal and the drive of the battery is not started. Further, when a means informing the detection of abnormality to a user is provided at this time, replacement can be urged.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to restart the execution of a program corresponding to its user when plural users share one information processing equipment by adding program user's identification(ID) information to program execution status, saving and storing the program execution status in a storage device at the time of turning off a power supply, and at the time of turning on the power supply, comparing the ID information of a program user turning on the power supply with the stored ID information and restoring the program execution status when the contents of both pieces of ID information coincide with each other. CONSTITUTION:In the case of saving/storing the program execution status (of an MPU and a peripheral register) in the main storage device 2 at the time of turning off the power supply, the ID information of a program user is also added to the execution status. When the ID information of a user turning on the power supply is inputted through a keyboard at the time of turning on the power supply, the pieces of inputted ID information are successively compared with the program user's ID information stored in the device 2 by the MPU 11, and when ID information coincident with the inputted contents is present thereon, the program execution status corresponding to the ID information is restored through an auxiliary storage device 4. Therefore when plural users share the information processing equipment, the execution of the program corresponding to the user can be restarted.

    • PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to transfer an external character font over again from a host system to a printer when the printer is switched on again after cutting off of electric current by a method wherein an external character RAM is made capable of being supplied with electric current also from a battery in the host system. CONSTITUTION:A battery 2 is incorporated in a host system 1 in which a CPU 3, a memory 4, a peripheral circuit 5 and others are provided. The host system 1 transfers an assemblage of characters that is peculiar to a certain user to an external character RAM 12 in a printer 6 so that the printing for this user can be operated. A DC current is supplied from a power source 13 to the entire body of the printer 6. The external character RAM 12 is supplied with the DC current from the battery 2 in the host system 1 in parallel with the DC current from the power source 13. Reverse flow of the electric current from the printer 6 to the host system 1 is checked with a diode 16. Therefore, because of the voltage applied to the external character RAM 12 from the battery 2 in the host system 1, an external character font does not volatilize even in the case where electric supply from the power source in the printer 6 is cut off while the system is in operation.
