    • PURPOSE: To obtain a high coding gain in comparison with a system where a 2-dimension trelis coding modulation signal is sent with one carrier by using plural carriers orthogonal to each other so as to send a multi-dimension coding modulation signal. CONSTITUTION: A mapping device 14 is made up of a signal selector and a multiplexer and the multiplexer provides an output of data of two sets of digital modulation points outputted by the signal selector for an orthogonal frequency division multiplex modulator 15 while selecting data of digital modulation point for each time slot. The orthogonal frequency division multiplex modulator 15 modulates one of plural carriers orthogonal to each other based on the outputs and provides an output of IF band orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal. The signal is frequency-converted into an RF band signal and it is transmitted. Thus, redundant data in 1-bit are allocated to two carriers by using one signal point with the two carriers of the orthogonal frequency division multiplex system in this way.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the dynamic range of a multicarrier signal without removing a carrier signal and transmission information by providing a dynamic range reduction multi-carrier signal processor for a receiver. SOLUTION: A signal divider 301 receives the multicarrier signal, takes N+2-pieces of samples and sends one sample on respective signal paths 311-37N. The sample sent to the path 315 is supplied to a controller 307, the signal is analyzed and the relative power is judged. The controller 307 gives an instruction that the specified constitution carrier signal is isolated from the multicarrier signal and it is corrected to respective signal modifiers 351-35N through paths 341-34N after the signal is analyzed. The respective signal modifiers change and correct the phase or the amplitude of the target signal or both of them in accordance with the direction. A signal coupler 303 receives N+1-pieces of signals, namely, signals from the path 311 and the signals from the respective signal modifiers through paths 381-38N and injects again the isolated/modified signal into the unmodified multicarrier signal.
