    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk object sorter and an authenticity determination method, capable of accurately determining the authenticity of a disk object, having a correlation with a pattern of an outer circumferential side face and marking patterns on a surface and the reverse face.
      SOLUTION: This disk object sorter 10 is provided with an irregular pattern detecting means 3 for detecting irregular pattern in the outer circumferential side face of the disk object, as an irregular pattern data, a marking detecting means 2 for detecting a marking on the surface or the reverse face of the disk object, as a marking data; a memory 5 for storing preliminarily the marking on the surface or the reverse face corresponding to a feature point of the prescribed irregular pattern; and an authenticity determination means 6 for determining the propriety of having the positional correlation with the irregular pattern and the marking in the disk object, by collating the marking detected by the marking detecting means 2, when the irregular pattern detecting means 3 detects the feature point of the prescribed irregular pattern, with the marking data stored in the memory 5, and for thereby determining the genuineness of the disk object.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the interrelation of a material and a material thickness at the same part of a coin is unknown and identification using the point cannot be performed by a conventional coin identification device.
      SOLUTION: The coin identification device has: a feeding port 23 for the coin 2; a path 24 connected to the feeding port 23 and provided toward the downstream; coils 42a and 42b disposed on the wall surface of the path 24 and wound around ferrite cores 41a and 41b; a tuning circuit 40 formed of the coils 42a and 42b and capacitors 73a and 73b; an oscillator 37 for supplying signals to the tuning circuit 40; a detection circuit 45 connected to the tuning circuit 40; an identification circuit 47 to which an output of the detection circuit 45 is supplied; and a switching means 39 for switching the signals supplied from the oscillator 37 to the tuning circuit 40 ten times or more while the coin 2 passes through the coils 42a and 42b.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate coin identification without deteriorating identification accuracy to false coin and without being influenced by a temporary peak level fluctuation of coin identification sensor output.
      SOLUTION: A differential waveform showing a change in peak level is generated from an output signal of a magnetic responding coin identification sensor 1 which generates one peak level characteristic according to a predetermined overall feature of a coin. An intermediate position between two peak positions of the differential waveform generated in conformation to passage of the coin is determined as a coin central position C1. A zero-cross point X1 and an inflexion point P3 on the differential waveform are detected, and one peak level typical position is determined based on the positional relation of the zero-cross point and inflexion point to the coin central position. A level value corresponding to the peak level typical position is taken from the output signal of the sensor as a peak level typical value, and the peak level typical value is compared with a predetermined threshold to thereby determine the authenticity of the coin.
