The satellite S1 transmits a navigation signal to a user set to measure a position based on the informed calculated result. Positioning information measured by the user set is informed to the satellite S1, navigation stations E1-E3, the orbit station 1 and the operation station 2.

SOLUTION: Since navigation data from a GPS satellite includes accurate time data or the like, a GPS receiver 3 receives an electronic wave from the GPS satellite and outputs time data and position data on a race. A calculator 1 calculates passed current time from a starting point position K on a race surface and corrects a loading timer according to race position information being obtained from the position data and pulse time information being synchronized to it. Also, based on the time data, the time of a second timer and a day timer is corrected in the same manner. In this manner, the need of communication for correction with a ground station side is eliminated by utilizing the GPS receiver 3, thus accurately correcting the timer with a simple configuration.

CONSTITUTION: The tracking system comprises a sensor 10 fixed to each object in order to sample GPS satellite signals digitally and to store the signals in a data buffer 20. These digital samples are transmitted through a data telemeter link 30 at a rate lower than the sampling rate of the GPS satellite signals and interleaved with other telemeter data from an object. The GPS data is processed at a data processing work station 70 where the position and speed of the sensor 20 are calculated at the time of sampling data. A data buffer 20 in the sensor is refreshed periodically and the work station 70 calculates new position and speed of the sensor periodically. The work station 70 assists capturing of data and provides a differential correlation value for enhancing the accuracy of positional measurement.
