    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for molding a product having a property similar to FRP, where a product with a weak alkalinity prepared from an inorganic composition which does not cause a waste disposal problem, having a comparatively low specific gravity, high toughness, and a moldability capable of forming a lightweight and thin three-dimensional curved surface is molded under an ordinary temperature and pressure for a short time without mixing a calcium compound easily dissolvable in water and without using a strong acid which accelerates rusting.
      SOLUTION: The inorganic composition for molding or building is composed of magnesium oxide of 20-60 wt%, magnesium chloride of 5-40 wt%, aluminum oxide of 5-40 wt%, and silicon dioxide of 5-30 wt%.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a magnesium-calcium composition capable of being used as a building material or the like, and also as a substitute for concrete or ceramics, under such mild conditions that high temperature and high pressure are not employed. SOLUTION: The process for producing this magnesium-calcium composition and also a magnesium-calcium structure derived from the composition, comprises mixing magnesium chloride, magnesium oxide and a calcium compound in a molar mixing ratio of 1:(1 to 10):(2 to 20) in the presence of storing acid under conditions of ordinary temperature and ordinary pressure, and curing the resulting mixture for >=12 hr, to obtain the objective magnesium-calcium structure which has 7.84×107 to 1.18×108 Pa of uniaxial compressive strength 3.92×107 to 4.90×107 Pa of bending strength, a high Young's modulus and high toughness, and therefore is hardly subjected to elastic deformation and excellent in strength, impact resistance and workability, without causing almost any shrinkage or expansion. Thus, the magnesium-calcium composition can appropriately be used for a wide variety of applications that cement, concrete, ceramics, and/or the like are conventionally used for, such as exterior wall material, roofing material, roofing tile, high-grade furniture, interior decorative article, washstand, bathtub, counter, table, decorative board and panel.
