    • PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of the printing density when an image is enlarged by providing a standard printing mode whereby a paper is fed at normal speeds to print printing data and an extended printing mode whereby said paper is fed at speeds higher than by said standard printing mode, so that the same printing data is overlapped on the adjacent two lines according to said extended printing mode. CONSTITUTION:In a standard paper-feed mode, first, fourth, seventh,... timing pulses SP are used to rewrite the content of a line memory 2 and print on line. On the other hand, in an extended paper-feed mode, first, fifth, ninth,... timing pulses SP are used to rewrite the content of the line memory to print the one line. It is so controlled according to the extended paper-feed mode that every content of the line memory 2 is read two times. Therefore, the paper is fed at higher speeds for one line. When an image screen '3:4' is converted to an image screen '1:1', since the adjacent lines are printed by the same printing data at the part of the image screen where a circle with some density exists, the gradation of this part is never reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To keep the continuity between lines and to restrict the difference with the objective printing result of a printer to the min. by calculating the cumulation of correction quantity at every line feeding and judging whether the cumulation result is subtracted from line feed quantity and generating the line feed quantity to which subtraction correction is applied if necessary. CONSTITUTION:When a line feed order is outputted, the line feed quantity data from a line feed quantity indication means 1 is inputted to a line feed quantity correction means 2. When the correction of line feed quantity is necessary, the line feed quantity correction means 2 generates the correction quantity calculated from line feed quantity data and line feed quantity to which the correction quantity is added on the basis of the data from a printing data memory means 6 to transmit the same to a correction quantity cumulation means 3 and a line feed means 5. The correction quantity cumulation means 3 adds the inputted correction quantity to the total to transfer control to the line feed means 5. When the line feed quantity correction means 2 judges that correction is unnecessary, a correction negating means 4 refers to the data of the printing data memory means 6 and the cumulation result of the correction quantity cumulation means 3 to subtract the cumulated quantity from indicated line feed quantity and transmits the same to the line feed means 5 as execution line feed quantity to transfer control. The line feed means 5 executes line feed on the basis of the execution line feed quantity data.

CONSTITUTION:When a printing position is moved upward or downward from a reference line by a line-feeding means M1, the movement is stored in a storage means M3. The information stored in the means M3 may be a plus or minus moving quantity. Even where the printing position is once deviated from a reference line due to an upward or downward movement, when the printing position is thereafter returned to the reference position by the line-feeding means M1, information indicating 'no movement' is stored into the storage means M3. When a return code appears, a return- controlling means M2 causes the line-feeding means M1 to perform a line feed of the printing position, and returns the printing position to a predetermined left margin position. In this case, a correcting means M4 corrects the line feed effected by the return-controlling means M2, according to the information stored in the storage means M3.

Thereafter, excitation in the stopping phase is performed N times at a period T0, and the motor it stopped at the position of 2n+1/360''. Since the stopping phase is one phase, a torque being maintained is lowered. In consideration of this, the ON time of a switching transistor Tr6 in a driving circuit 13 in the case of stopping with one-phase excitation is set to be longer than that in the case of stopping with two phase excitation.

Test printing for setting the quantity of fine adjustment of line feed is started, and MPU 5 reads a set value of DIP SW 6 and adds an offset value corresponding to the read set value to a line feed value of a memory 7a. The value thus obtained is stored in a memory 7b, an appropriate pattern is recorded in one line, a pulse motor 9 is driven by the value (number of pulses) of the memory 7b to execute line feed, and recording is conducted another line. In the case when overlap, blank or the like is found in a joint of the recorded pattern due to the line feed, the operation conducted thereto fore is repeated, and when the overlap or the like is not found, the fine adjustment of the quantity of line feed ends.
