    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass where a large-sized glass is produced in such a manner that the temperature distribution between the central part and the side wall sides in a molding die (the temperature distribution between the vicinity of the central part and the vicinity of the side walls in a molten glass in the molding die in a cooling process till vitrifying) is controlled to ±150°C, and to provide a glass molding device used for the production method.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing a glass comprises: a stage where a molten glass in a melting furnace is passed into a pipe fixed with a heat insulating member for preventing heat radiation of the molten glass, and the molten glass is made to flow into a molding die covered with a member having low thermal conductivity to the lower part of the heat insulating member; and a stage where the spacing between the lower part of the heat insulating member and the liquid surface of the molten glass made to flow into the molding die is made fixed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a glass formed article, wherein the glass formed article is prevented from breakage, chipping and cracks caused by the rapid cooling of a molten glass gob received in a forming mold.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing the glass formed article has a forming device 1 equipped with: the forming mold 16; a power source and a rotary shaft 12 for moving the forming mold 16; a burner 20 for heating the forming mold 16; and a cooling unit 22 which is provided around the rotary shaft 12 and cools a power transmitting member. In the apparatus for producing the glass formed article, since the forming mold 16 is heated by the burner 20, the difference between temperatures of the forming mold 16 and the molten glass gob 18b is reduced so as to allow to prevent the glass formed article from breakage, chipping and cracks.
