    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of easily detecting an oil leak from a pipe connection part of a centralized lubrication device for supplying lubricating oil to a plurality of sections through a distributor, dispensing with periodic inspection work for oil leak of a machine tool having a high function, and reducing work burden required for maintenance and inspection of the machine tool. SOLUTION: A first level sensor 6A and a second level sensor 6B for detecting a liquid level are provided at positions where height of a lubricating oil tank 1 differs, and the required time that the liquid level of lubricating oil reaches a second level after reaching a first level is compared with the set time to detect the existence or absence of oil leak in a pipe and give an alarm. In the distributor of fixed amount type, rise of pressure in the pipe is delayed if there is an oil leak, stop time of the pump 2 is delayed, and a consumption amount of lubricating oil increases. In the distributor of proportional type, since lubricating oil flows out in excess by an amount of leak, a discharge amount of the pump increases even if operation time of the pump is fixed. Consequently, oil leak from the pipe can be detected by comparing the time required for the reduction of liquid level in the tank with the set time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device relating to machining technique for the top of a ferrule used for a connection of optical fibers, which permit spherical grinding with accuracy, steadily and efficiently.
      SOLUTION: A ferrule 8 is driven to rotate around the work axis, and the top of the ferrule 8 is ground spherically by the rim 24 of a cup wheel 15 at the top of the wheel spindle 9 which is supported with a tilting frame. The tilting frame is tilted around the tilting axis which is perpendicular to the work axis. A truing tool is attached to the tilting frame, and the outside angle of the cup wheel rim is trued slantwise preferably at angle 45 degree or less, so that the grinding face T of the cup wheel rim is kept in 0.5 to 0.8 mm for grinding the work. The truing motion is performed when a sensor detects a wear of the wheel rim. Because the face which does not contact with the work is trued to modify, dressing for the trued surface becomes unnecessary.

SOLUTION: A lubricating oil feeding device is provided for a machine tool provided with an oil feeding pump 19 operated based on a set time interval, a pipe branched from the discharge port of the oil feeding pump and communicated with a plurality of oil feeding places and a pipe component 25 for setting the quantity of lubricating oil for each branch pipe of this pipe. The lubricating oil feeding device is provided with a load detecting means 14 for detecting the loads of driving motors 8 and 11 for driving motion members as targets for feeding lubricating oil, a lubrication limit load setting means 15, and a control means for comparing a load detected by the load detecting means with the set value of the load setting means and giving a command to the oil feeding pump 9 to perform one intermittent operation based on the result of the comparison. Even if an oil feeding time interval set in a timer is long, as the danger of damaging a machine is increased, the load increase of the motor is detected before lubricating oil becomes short, and lubricating oil feeding is performed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an automatical setting of a workpiece machining reference by reading coordinates of tool rest or phase of a main spindle when an output value of sensor changes through the close contact operation between a specified sensor mounted to the tool rest and the surface of workpiece for the relative movement. SOLUTION: In a workpiece 1, a round rod made of brass 15 is burried at a position parallel to the axis of a cylindrical iron made base member 1a. A high accuracy boring work is applied to the center of the round rod 1b. At this time, the workpiece 1 is loaded on a chuck 6, and truning work is applied to the outer circumference 1c and end face 1d of the workpiece 1. Thereafter, a non-magnetic material sensor 3 is indexed according to the turning of a turret 2, and the setting of workpiece machining reference is made at a radius position where the round rod 1b of the workpiece 1. Then, while the output of sensor 3 is monitored, a main spindle 4 is rotated at a low speed and the round rod 1b is detected. Succesively, after the sensor 3 is made close to the surface of workpiece 1 from both sides of the round rod 1b, then points A and B being both diametrical end positions of the round rod 1b are read, and the intermediate position between both read values is set as a machining reference 5.
