摘要： PURPOSE:To enable efficient and excellent buttwelding by irradiating bntttd parts of high damping steel sheets with defocus laser beam 10, evaporating and removing a resin layer 4 near the butted parts, then, welding them with focus laser beam 11. CONSTITUTION:The high damping steel sheet 1 and the high damping steel sheet 2 are butted, the butted parts 3 are irradiated with defocus laser beam 10. Since the butted parts 3 are preheated to a prescribed temperature, the resin layer 4 near the butted parts 3 is vaporized and the vapor is exhausted to the outer part through a clearance of the butted parts and a cavity 6 is left. Then, the butted parts 3 where the resin layer 4 has been removed by the converged focus laser beam 11 for welding are welded. Since the resin layer is not left at the butted parts, resin vapor is hardly generated at the welding time. Consequently, defects such as blowholes, pits, etc., are not generated on a butt joint 7 and an excellent bead shape is obtained. Since welding is performed in a narrow bead width, efficient butt welding can be performed without deteriorating damping performance.
