When using an HDD 115 having no medium ID, on the other hand, the secure manager 112 acquires a device ID peculiar to a system through a BIOS and manages encoding/decoding of contents recorded on the HDD 115 while using the device ID. The device ID is stored in a safe area inside a computer system.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a reproduced image with optional image data at an optional reproduction position of a DVD video image. SOLUTION: A time counter 118 counts an elapsed time from start of reproduction of a DVD video image consisting of MPEG2 streams, and when the count of the time counter 118 reaches a link image insert time set to a time set register 117, a DVD decoder 113 generates an interrupt signal (INT). A DVD reproduction control program 201 in response to the interruption signal replaces image data to be reproduced consisting of the DVD video image with a link image designated by link file information. Since the elapsed time from start of reproduction is used for a trigger to replace the reproduced image in this way, the reproduced image is switched at an optional position independently of a position in the stream in which a command for video switching is imbedded.

SOLUTION: A VGA controller 16 has a pass-through mode and a VRAM mode as dynamic image display modes and the selecting of a display mode is performed by controlling a switch 170. In the pass-through mode, video data from a video port interface 163 can be directly outputted to an NTSC/PAL encoder 165 without being passed through a VRAM 17. As a result, it is made possible to display original video data with the quality of the data itself. Besides, in the VRAM mode, the value of a refresh rate for a screen display is made comform with the vertical synchronizing frequency of the video data and the high-quality image having no tearings can be obtained.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude a repeat field from a field composite processing object only by adding simple hardware logic and to display a smooth image without fadering on a display monitor of a computer. SOLUTION: A mask circuit 503 of a DVD decoder 112 inputs a repeat first field flag register (Rep-Reg) 112b in every Vsync that is outputted from a video port control circuit 502 and when a repeat first field flag = '1', it masks Vsync and Hsync which correspond to the next field. It automatically frees the mask when the next Vsync comes. A VGA controller 113 does not capture video data while the Vsync and Hsync are masked. Then, a repeat field is easily excluded from a field composite processing object.

Therefore, the same data are not outputted onto a PCT bus 10 many times and the reduction of bus traffic can be attained. Besides, because of a transfer system not through the main memory 12, the illegal copy can be prevented as well.
