    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the thermal stability of a battery when a nonaqueous electrolyte battery has a high temperature by self-heat generation or by heating from the outside.
      SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises: an electrode group 2 comprising a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 5 and a separator 4 composed of non-woven fabric which is disposed between the positive electrode 3 and the negative electrode 5 and is impregnated with a nonaqueous electrolyte; and a heat contraction ring 7 which surrounds the outer periphery of the electrode group 2 so that two end faces 2a, 2b formed by exposing end faces of the positive electrode 3, the negative electrode 5 and the separator 4 and opposite to each other are not covered, and has a plurality of ring-shaped parts thermally contracted at different temperatures not lower than 90°C and not higher than 180°C.
