    • PURPOSE:To recover unnecessary ink in a gutter and a recovery pipe positively on the suspension of a device by providing a section between a power supply and a device power supply switch with a power control means by a relay and a timer. CONSTITUTION:When a power supply switch 21 is turned ON, a relay 23 is held, and a power supply 17 is supplied with currents such as AC100V by two paths of the relay 23 and the device power supply switch 21. When recording is completed and the power supply switch 21 is interrupted, the signal of the interruption is transmitted over a pulse generator 18, pulses are generated several times, and a recovery-pump driving circuit 19 is operated to work a recovery pump 14. The operating time of the recovery pump is ensured by a timer 22, the relay 23 is held and the power supply 17 is supplied with AC100V. The supply of AC100V to the power supply 17 is interrupted after the predetermined time of the timer 22 elapses, thus stopping the operation of recovery of the recovery pump 14. Accordingly, unnecessary ink 20 in a gutter 13 and a recovery pipe 15 is recovered positively, and residue can be removed.

    • PURPOSE:To print magnified character without reducing the printing speed by putting charged drops together with non-charged drops with an increased charging level in an ink jet recording adapted to deflect voltage in the charged drops. CONSTITUTION:Ink leaving an ink supply system pressurized is turned into large drops at an equal interval with a piezo-electric vibrator 3. The drops charged with a charging electrode 4 are matched in the timing with a phase detector 5, deflected with deflection electrode plates 6 and 7 to perform a printing on a printing paper 12 while the non-charged drops are absorbed with a gutter 11. As the charged voltage is increased, the charged drops attract the non-charged drops by a Coulomb force and with an increase in the air resistance, they are retreated attracting more together. The feeding is done with a feed controlling circuit to match magnified character. As the printing of expanded characters is done with a large amount of drops, the printing can be done without slowing down.

As a result, when the time (t) is longer than the time To, a valve 13 opened for a fixed time period by the output from the time difference comparator circuit 29, and water or diluted ink in a water or diluted ink cartridge 11 is supplied to the ink tank 10 to dilute the concentration of ink.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the printing amount per unit time, by moving alternately a first and a second ink ribbons in a reverse direction, and moving a printing medium in the same direction as said first ink ribbon when a first color transfer ink is to be transferred and as said second ink ribbon when a second color transfer ink is to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:When ink ribbons 55a and 55b come to a predetermined reference position, a head motor 15 is driven thereby to press a head 1 against a platen 2. Since a notched portion 51 of the ink ribbon 55a confronts the head 1, substantially only the ink ribbon 55b is present between the head 1 and the platen 2, so that printing by magenta color is performed for one line. After one line is printed completely, a paper feed motor 26 is rotated in a clockwise direction and thereafter a paper 4 is moved a distance of one line in a reverse direction (M direction). Simultaneously, a ribbon feed motor 66 is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, so that the ink ribbon 55b is moved a distance of one line in a leftward direction. This operation is repeated for every line and accordingly printing with magenta color is done at one recording area (where printing with yellow color is performed).

    • PURPOSE:To realize high printing quality regardless of a printing speed, by counting the accumulated number of the on-dots of the printing data with one page and correcting the driving pulse width of a recording head corresponding thereto and adding this accumulated correction value to the temp. correction value due to a thermistor to adjust energy to be applied. CONSTITUTION:When a converter 37 converts the resistance change to the temp. change of the thermistor 36 mounted to a thermal recording head 1 to voltage and outputs the temp. data 28 of a digital signal, said temp. data 28 is inputted to the address line of an ROM 39. A counter circuit 41 counts the accumulated number of on-dots from the start of the printing of one page to the finish thereof at the start time of printing. When the accumulated dot data 44 outputted from the counter circuit 41 are inputted to the address line of an ROM 42, the ROM 42 outputs timer data 45 due to accumulation correction. This time data 45 is added to the timer data 34 due to the temp. correction outputted from the ROM 39 by ADDER (adder) 43 to be inputted to a timer 33 as composite timer data 46. The timer 33 is loaded with the composite timer data 46 on the basis of a printing trigger signal 32 and turns the STB signal 35 of the recording head 1 ON for a definite time to perform printing operation.
