CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of the formula (A is iodine ion or tetrafluoroboron ion), e.g. p-xylylenebis(triphenylphosphonium ditetrafluoroborate). The compound of the formula can normally be obtained by a process wherein 2 moles of triphenylphosphine is made to react with one mole of alpha,alpha'-p-xylylene dichloride in an organic solvent such as toluene at 60-160 deg.C for 3-6hr under agitation and heating, and the resulting p-xylylenebis(triphenylphosphonium dichloride) is completely dissolved in water; and an aqueous solution of sodium tetrafluoroborate or sodium iodide is added to the aqueous solution obtained above followed by conducting a reaction at 20-60 deg.C for 3-5hr under agitation.

The product is reacted with 0.5mol of a compd. of the formula H-B-H in water at 30-60 deg.C and then with a compd. of the formula XII, XIII or the like to obtain the title compd.

Copper phthalocyanine is chlorosulfonated with chlorosulfonic acid. The resulting copper phthalocyanine di-, tri- ortetrasulfonylchloride is reacted with the compd. of formula VI in the absence or presence of NH3. The resulting compd. of formula VII is reacted with a pyridine derivative of formula VIII.

In case of printing, it shows good resistance to white staining. PREPARATION:Diazotized 6-acetylamino-2-aminophenol-4-sulfonic acid is coupled with 5-sulfo-2-carboxyphenylhydrazine. Then, sulfuric acid is allowed act on the product, heated in an alkali solution to effect hydrolysis of acetylamino group to give a formazan amino compound of formula IV. The product is allowed to react with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine.
