    • PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency and the life by constituting a mover of a carbon fiber reinforcing resin complex simple, and making it have the elasticity in accord with the pressure of an ultrasonic motor in the direction of the pressurization of the mover. CONSTITUTION:A mover 13 made of carbon fiber reinforcing resin has elasticity in the direction of pressurization (vertical direction to the face A) since it is made in beam structure of both-end support. That is, the mover is composed of a mover beam part 10, the first projections 11 extended from both ends of the beam part 10, and the second projections 12 extended from the beam part 10 on the side of contact face with a vibrator 16. And the mover 13 receives the force of being pressed against the vibrator 16 through the face A of the first projection 11, and contacts with the vibrator 16 with the second projection 12. In this case, it is to be desired that the flexural elastic modulus of the material of the mover 13 should be 1000kg/mm -7000kg/mm . Hereby, the efficiency and the life of the motor can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a circular type ultrasonic motor in which problems of generation of noise due to difficulty in uniform contact of a vibrator with a moving element, a decrease in the efficiency of a motor are eliminated, and which is light in weight, and high in output transmission efficiency and simple in manufacturing process in the motor for generating driving force by exciting an elastic wave using a piezoelectric element such as piezoelectric ceramic. CONSTITUTION:A moving element 7 is formed of a moving element beam 8, and moving element first protrusions 9 extended from both ends of the beam 8. The vibrator 10 is pressurized through a surface A of the protrusion 9, and the vibrator 10 is brought into contact with the beam 8. The element is formed in a beam structure of both-end supporting conditions to provide an effect (a surface correcting effect) to absorb waviness of the contact surface of the vibrator with the element. Thus, a stably uniform contact is obtained, and an ultrasonic motor having long term reliability, can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify a manufacturing process due to the omission of the reduc ing and bonding process of the number of the component parts of a moving body, and lighten the weight of a motor, and obtain the efficient and stable ultrasonic wave motor by forming the moving body, with a fiber reinforced resin complex reinforced with the use of carbon fibers at least. CONSTITUTION:A moving body 24 is formed with a carbon fiber reinforced resin complex. A reason for using carbon fibers is to enhance the rigidity of a frictional contact surface and to improve the mechanical strength of the moving body 24. It is molded by using a metallic mold, as a working method. Besides, compared with a conventional moving body, the weight of the moving body 24 can be reduced. Besides, the progressive wave of deflection oscillation due to an oscillating body 23 can be transmitted to the moving body 24 efficient ly, and also on driving for a long time, stable motor characteristic can be kept. It is desirable that the including quantity of the carbon fibers is 10weight% or more and 70weight% or less. As a result, the characteristic is stabilized, and a manufacturing process can be simplified due to the reduction of the number of the component parts of the moving body and the omission of a bonding process, and the weight of a motor can be lightened.

    • PURPOSE:To enable speed to be improved as compared with a case without any protruding body by determining a shape of an elastic substrate and the protruding body so that a specific relation can be established by setting a distance from a neutral surface within the elastic substrate to a surface of the elastic substrate to h1, a height of the protruding body to h2, a width between roots of the protruding body to w1, and a width of a root of the protruding body to w2. CONSTITUTION:A distance from a neutral surface within an elastic substrate 101 to a surface of the elastic substrate is set to h1; a height of a protruding body 103 to h2; a width between roots of the protruding body 103 to w1; a width of a root of the protruding body 103 to w2. A vibrating body 104 deflects only at a part where the width if w2. When distortion at this part is set to a value which is within the same breakdown limitation as that without the protruding body 103, an amplitude A' when there is the protruding body 103 is shown by IA'={w1/(w1+w2)} A as compared with an amplitude A without the protruding body 103. Thus, in normal case where a neutral surface position does not change greatly, a speed v1 where there is the protruding body 103 is as shown by an expression IIv0=h1kAomega and an expression IIIv1=(h1+h2)(w1/(w1+w2)kAomega=((h1+h2)/h1)(w1/(w1+w2))v0 as compared with a speed v0 without any traveling body. Therefore, the shape of the elastic substrate 101 and that of the protruding body 103 are determined so that an expression IV ((h1+h2)/ h1)(w1/(w1+w2))>1 may be satisfied.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a machining accuracy by enabling machining of a vibrating body to be in a plane shape for simplification by providing a recessed part on a surface which is partially in contact with a traveling body for a width of the vibrating body. CONSTITUTION:A first elastic body 1 constitutes a torus-shaped vibrating body 3 along with a piezoelectric body 2 and a recessed part 4 is provided at the inside which does not reach an outer diameter in a width of a plane of the tours-shaped vibrating body 3. A vibrating body 5 is in contact with this vibrating body 3 through a friction material 8 by pressing. The amount of displacement of a vibration displacement in the radial direction of the torus- shaped plate vibrating body 3 becomes larger toward the outside since a primary vibration mode is in use. However, since mechanical rigidity changes in proportion to a power of three of the plate thickness by providing the recessed part 4 at the inside, the amount of displacement can be flattened in the radial direction so that a stable contact can be achieved even when the center is shifted due to poor accuracy of shaft. Also, since the traveling body is driven at the inside where the amplitude of the vibration body 3 is small, stable property against fluctuation of load can be achieved.
