      SOLUTION: This reflector 2 has a plurality of reflecting parts 21 which are formed in the shape of a gutter along the axial direction of a plurality of straight discharge lamps 1 juxtaposed almost in parallel with the back of the liquid crystal panel (not shown ) and each of which is to store one discharge lamp in its inside. A plurality of these reflecting parts 21 are combined with each other between adjacent two discharge lamps 1, and a rib 24 to embed a plurality of recessed parts 21a each formed on the back sides of the reflecting parts 21 at those combined spots is provided.
