The rewriting control means 4 receives this, instructs to superscribe the file for which the reading request is performed on the file whose frequency in use can be judged to be few of the files which are already stored in a high speed access storage means 2 from a large capacity means 3, based on the number of times of access and similarity information of the use statistics storage means and the analogizing information storage means and performs a rewriting. The storage means which is capable of performing a high speed access, can be effectively utilized.

Then, when a document image is used, an image mask pattern corresponding to position information on the secret item entry area is generated to display or print a document image wherein, the area is hidden.

A saturation conversion processing part 450 performs the saturation conversion processing and outputs the R', G' and B' signals of a saturation converted image. An image memory 900 stores the data on the R', G' and B' signals. Thus it is possible to prevent the conspicuous color deviation in the area of the small saturation and the small brightness.
