An electromagnet unit 200 drives the movable support 131 in an advancing/retracting direction, which is in an axial direction, so that the movable contact parts come into contact with or separate from the respective fixed contact parts. The electromagnetic contactor further comprises a slide guide 403 for restricting the rotary displacement of the movable contact piece 132. The slide guide 403 is a separate component from the insulation cylinder 140.
