    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint capable of absorbing all the fluctuations within the width of a clearance between skeletons without requiring a larger width of the clearance between the skeletons than that of a conventional expansion joint.
      SOLUTION: This expansion joint 1 is constituted in such a way that a terminal side cover part 5 and a tip side cover part 6 covering the clearance 4 between the skeletons and being parallel with the longitudinal direction of the clearance are mutually connected by a hinge part 10, the terminal side cover part 5 is connected with the skeleton 2 on one side by a hinge part 11, a rear surface 51 side is connected with a skeleton 2 side by an elastic member 7, the tip side cover part 6 is slidably loaded on a loading face 8 formed like steps in a fringe part of the skeleton 3 on the other side, and an elastic member 9 connected with both skeleton 2, 3 sides is arranged in the clearance 4.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint which can be provided even in a location where the space between frames is large, and which needs less space on the back side than before.
      SOLUTION: The expansion joint has a cover part 3 on the base end side and a cover part 4 on the tip side covering the space 2C between the frames. Then both of the cover parts 3, 4 are in parallel with each other in the longitudinal direction of the space, and are connected to each other so that they can rotate about the longitudinal direction of the space. Then the cover part 3 on the base end side is connected to the one frame 2A side so that it can rotate about the longitudinal direction of the space, and is connected to the other frame 2B side so that it can rotate through the medium of a rotation-supporting arm 7 arranged so that the arm straddles the cover part 4 on the tip side. Then an installation part 6d, which can be installed on the edge part of the other frame 2B, is provided on the cover part 4 on the tip side.
