    • PURPOSE:To automatically measure a pavement thickness while an asphalt is being laid, by a method wherein a measuring rod is inserted in a paved surface at every preset advance distance and the pavement thickness is measured and displayed on the basis of the movement of a measuring plate. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of measuring rods 10a are mounted at a predetermined interval and a measuring plate 10b is mounted to each of the measuring rods 10a is an up-and-down movable manner. An operator sets a pavement surface measuring interval to a controller with respect to the advance direction of an asphalt finisher. The moving quantity of a measuring device 5 is calculated from the number of rotations of a wheel 5a by the controller and, when the measuring device 3 moves by a set interval, the controller stops the device 5. Next, the controller inserts each rod 10a in a pavement surface 8 until reaching roadbed 13 through a measuring rod driving part 11a and, at this time, the plate 10b is pushed up by the thickness amount corresponding to the pavement thickness and the moving quantity is displayed on a display device 10c as the pavement thickness. When measurement is finished, the controller pulls off the rod 10a and subsequently controls a drive part 9 to release the locking of the wheel 5a to drive the device 5.

    • PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of operation by reducing the fatigue of worker by a method in which a boom is attached to the front of an upper slewing body, and a bucket attitude regulating cylinder is provided between the front of the upper slewing body and the boom. CONSTITUTION:A control valve 12 for boom cylinder is switched to the extension side 12b of the boom cylinder. Pressure oil from an oil pressure source 18 flows through B port from the P port of the valve 12 into an oil chamber 4b on the lid pushout side of the boom cylinder 4. The oil in the rod draw in side oil chamber 4a goes through T port from A port of the valve 12 back to a sump tank 20. At the same time, when a switch 21 is pushed, an electromagnetic switch valve 14 is switched to the valve 14b, and pressure oil on the rod pushout side of the bucket cylinder 10 flows into an oil chamber 11b on the rod pushout side of a bucket attitude-regulating cylinder 11. The oil of the chamber 11a joins with the oil of the chamber 4a and return to the tank 20. Oil from the tank 20 is supplied through a check valve 17 to the oil chamber 10a on the rod-retracting side of the cylinder 10 to lift up the bucket.
