摘要： PURPOSE:To achieve duplicate with high speed and good quality, by a recording information signal converted to pulse width or pulse frequency modulation waveform on a magnetic substance layer of a master recording medium as an uneven pattern. CONSTITUTION:For example, an audio signal 31 is applied to a modulation circuit 32, where conversion into pulse width modulation (PWM) or pulse frequency modulation (PFM) waveform is made, and the result is applied to a modulator 34 to laser beam from a laser oscillator 33. The modulated laser beam is condensed on a magnetic substance layer 12 of a master recording medium 1 via an optical system 35 to form an uneven pattern. While this master recording medium 1 and a magnetic recording medium 2 are overlapped and run toward the arrow at a high speed, a magnetic field H1 is applied broadwise and a magnetic field H2 transversally, respectively. The magnetic field to a magnetic substance layer 14 is condensed to a part opposing to the projection of the layer 12, and the information signal is transferred and recorded on the layer 14. Thus, duplication with high speed and good quality can be made.

On the other hand, the AC bias 7 is converted into the repetitive attenuation wave 17 repeating attenuation every pulse section of output pulse with the signal of the attenuating envelope generator 8 at the modulator 9 and the clock signal 16, it is synthesized with the PCM signal 13 at the synthesizer 11, and the output 14 is obtained and recorded on the magnetic tape with the magnetic head 15. Required residual magnetism is left with the attenuating bias 17 at the pulse present region and it is completely demagnetized with the attenuation bias 17 at the pulse absent region, allowing the magnetic recording with high sensitivity at high frequencies.
